I C E L A N D

The country that ignited my love of travel, the planet, and that sense of smallness felt in the midst of nature. One can't help but admire the enormity of the cascading mountains, volcanoes, waterfalls, and pillars of basalt, omnipresent in the terrain of this isolated country. Thousands of miles in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, the inhabitants of this island country remain to be some of the most happy in all of the globe. And as a visitor in mid-2019, I began to understand why the Icelandic people are among the happiest in the world: the serenity offered by the great outdoors, the equality between social groups, the respect they hold for both, planet and one another, and the slow-paced culture that preserves the well-being of its people. Pictured below are the memories I took home with me, from my 10-day trek through the South coast of Iceland.
